Employees may request time off or managers can make requests on the employees' behalf in advance before the Master Schedule has been updated.
Once the request has been approved, the system will look at the employee's Master Schedule rotation and will add the Attendance Code used for the Time Off Request to the applicable date(s) on the Active Schedule.
Upon approval, the time will be taken from the employee bank. The unfilled shifts will only appear once the update from master has occurred.
The example below displays John's schedule for May 6 to May 12 (week 1 of his rotation).
Method #1 - Selecting Full Days without Hours Added
In this case the system will only book the sick code to the days he is scheduled to work. Using this option, John requests time off for the period of May 6 to May 9, also week 1 on his rotation but not yet updated.
The following confirmation will appear when he makes his request. Notice that only his scheduled days (6th, 7th & 9th) will have time taken from the bank (once the request is approved):
When the request is approved, his Active Schedule for May 6 to May 9 will now appear as follows with the Attendance Code added to his scheduled days only and the time reduced from his bank (no Update from Master has occurred yet):
Method #2 - Adding Hours to the Request
In this case, the system will add the sick code to all the days he has requested off, whether he is scheduled or not, entering 11:30 hours for his requested days. Using this method, John requests time off for the period of May 6 to May 9, also week 1 on his rotation but not yet updated:
The following confirmation will appear when he makes his request. Notice that all the days requested will have time taken from the bank (when the request is approved), whether they are scheduled or not:
After the request is approved, his Active Schedule for May 6 - 9 will now appear as follows with the Attendance Code added to ALL his requested days and his bank time reduced:
