StaffScheduleCare – SSC Web Version 30.27 Release Notes

Released February 2, 2026

We’re excited to share the latest improvements designed to make your experience smoother and more reliable. Here’s what’s new in this update:

New Features & Enhancements

Requests - Time Off Requests - Additional Field - Enhancement to Time Off Request management, adding a facility column to the grid and enabling sorting by facility.

Employee Web Manual Access - Create an employee-specific online web manual that is automatically shown to employees upon login.

Automated Notifications - Additional Centralized Control Options - Enhancement to Automated Call out by creating centralized company-wide settings under the Company Profile / Schedule menu with security and full audit tracking; independent enable/disable toggles for each notification and communication method; ability to disable all notifications with warnings for critical ones.

Reports - Audit Report - Additional Option - Enhancement to Audit Report, adding an Automated Call Outs Notifications category that logs user changes, timestamps, notification and communication method updates, and old/new threshold values in the standard audit format.

Config - Security - Schedule Groups - Enhancement to scheduling, adding a new security menu option for creating and managing department schedule groups to organize schedules by department and class. Managers can grant employees access to the groups they belong to, enabling employees to see who they are scheduled to work with and when.

Automated Call Outs - SMS Notification and Template Modifications - Enhancements to Automated Call Out, Mobile, Email, and Phone notifications, introducing new templates and updating existing ones to deliver clearer messages to employees and managers for unsuccessful bids, rule validation failures, shifts already filled, expired dispatches, no responses, successful shift bookings, block dispatches and more.

Automated Call Outs - Notification - A new Shift Starting Soon alert notifies employees before a shift based on a configurable company-wide time threshold. Administrators can enable it, choose delivery methods, and notifications are sent only to employees with matching preferences. The threshold is set in hours (0–24) and is active only when a delivery method is enabled.

Benefits / Deductions Calculation - This enhancement adds a configurable maximum hours cap to benefit and deduction calculations, enabling compliance with new union rules such as limiting deductions to 1% of up to 80 hours worked per pay period. Administrators can define the maximum hour cap per deduction type, ensuring payroll automatically excludes hours beyond the limit while accurately reflecting capped amounts in calculations, reports, and pay stubs.

Personnel - Rates & Classes Access Improvement - Enhancement to disable the Calculate button for employees with View Only access to the Employee Rate menu.

Automated Call Outs - Shift Display - Improvement to Automated Call Outs so shifts in the Communication Hub remain highlighted blue (Processing) until accepted by an employee or the shift starts when Allow Employees to Respond up to Shift Start is enabled, providing consistent status visibility.

Automated Call Outs - Call Response - Enhancement to correctly display a grey phone icon with “Answering Machine” tooltip when a call reaches voicemail, replacing the misleading green check mark and clearly distinguishing true employee responses from messages left.

Shift Rotation - Overtime - Consecutive Weekend / Sorting Levels - Added Weekend Definition options (Any Days, Both Days) to improve consistency and ensure accurate consecutive weekend validation across the Call In List and other related menus.

General - Automated Call Outs (Mass Messaging) Message Change - Update to global SSC alerts to reflect the new two-step SMS opt-in process, clearly guiding employees to first send START or UNSTOP and then RESUME to the facility’s number, ensuring successful re-enrollment.

Reports - NS Ministry Staffing - Enhancement to change the Total Unfilled Report header from “Unfilled Hours” to “Unfilled Hours by Class” without affecting calculations.

Schedule - SMS Simulator - Enhancement adding an internal web-based SMS simulation interface for internal testing of SMS functionality without physical devices, including simulated employee responses, chronological conversation tracking, and the ability to reset test data between sessions.

General Enhancement - HR Integration - Added support for an automated nightly HR data integration via SFTP, importing employee change records from UKG to SSC to minimize manual updates and keep employee records in sync.

Fixes & Improvements

Requests / Time Off Requests - Incorrect Time - Resolved an issue in which the Attendance Code time was incorrectly modified when a Time Off Request was partially approved.

Task Scheduler - Email - Corrected issue where scheduled tasks without Notify by Email enabled sent emails with the subject TEST instead of the actual report subject when the user’s email was included only in the report distribution settings.

Normalize Global Spacing Variables - Internal tool updated for uniform spacing and alignment.

Standardize Button Styles Consistency - Internal changes for additional standardization.

Employee Panel Bar Sizing and Scrolling - Adjustments made to improve content visibility and enhance usage.

General Menu Modal Behavior and Content Load - Updated modals to open with fully preloaded, properly spaced content, eliminating the need to click around to reveal expected data.

General Dropdown and Styling Adjustments - Improvements to dropdown behavior, ensuring menus open without overflow clipping or misalignment, selected values display with proper padding and wrapping, and multi-select items can be removed and interacted with smoothly.

General Date Selection Style and Alignment Adjustments - Improvements to date selection components, ensuring calendars align correctly with their input fields, calendar dropdowns appear without clipping, and styling is consistent throughout software.

General Tab Adjustments - Improvements to tab styling and behavior, ensuring tabs follow modern UI tab patterns, active tabs are clearly highlighted, and tab layouts remain well-structured without awkward wrapping on smaller screens.

General Text Box Adjustments - Improvements to input field consistency, ensuring uniform heights and spacing, properly aligned appended elements (such as icons or symbols), and stable form fields that no longer collapse or expand unexpectedly on focus.

General Link Adjustments - Improvements to anchor tag styling, removing underlines by default and ensuring hover states remain accessible through clear visual indicators like bolding or color changes.

General Check Boxes and Radio Button Adjustments - Improvements to form layout and spacing, ensuring labels wrap without overlapping inputs, inputs align consistently with text, and padding and margins follow a consistent spacing system.

Task Scheduler Running Issue - Correction to intermittent Task Scheduler issue where the Payroll Close task becomes stuck in a perpetual running state.

Automated Call Outs (Mass Messaging) Response - Correction to issue when some employees reply “yes” to accept a called-out shift and the system fails to recognize affirmative replies, subsequently not booking employees to shifts as expected.

Automated Call Outs (Mass Messaging) Response - Fixed an issue where max shifts per day validation was not enforced, allowing an employee to be booked into multiple shifts on the same day when Broadcast and Pool was used with Auto Processing of the Pooling list. The fix ensures the second shift is awarded to another eligible employee and shows a clear error message.

Punches - Double Shift Missing Middle Punches - Correction to issue where back-to-back shifts were missing the automatic end punch of the first shift and start punch of the second shift when employees are required to punch in and out for unpaid lunch.

Time Bank Setting - Correction to issue with Time Bank Display Conversion where employee time banks no longer remain stuck in Days when the Allow Display Hours in Days setting is turned off, ensuring balances correctly display in Hours and remain consistent across the system.

Reports - Time Bank Report - Liability Setting - Correction to Time Bank Report inconsistencies where hours and dollar liabilities varied based on the Liability Calculation by option selected, ensuring both balances now calculate accurately regardless of using START or HISTORY as of START for reliable payroll and financial reporting.

Personnel - New Employee Profile Login - Fixed issue where new employee welcome emails displayed incorrect login credentials, showing the facility code as the username and the username as the password, and now correctly include accurate username and password information.

Automated Call Outs - Time Validation - Correction to ACO apply button being incorrectly disabled when End Messaging After exceeded shift start, allowing Apply when using End by Shift Start or End by Fixed Time.

Task Scheduler Events - Fixed Issue where scheduled tasks were not running as expected across multiple sites in both the Windows service and web-based task scheduler, ensuring automated processes execute reliably.

Automated Call Outs - Shift History Contacted tab - Correction to the issue where only one sorting level received the “shift filled” notification and duplicate entries appeared, the fix ensures notifications are sent correctly and duplicates are removed.

Shift Exchange - Shift Giveaway - Fixed issue where Shift Give requests with Auto Approval enabled would hang or fail to process if the acceptor had an overlapping shift, ensuring the system correctly completes or rejects the Give Away without causing incomplete approvals.

Schedules - Department Schedule Menu for Employees Labelling - Correct issue where the Department Schedule navigation item showed the wrong label and redirected to the wrong page when using the employee login, now displaying correctly and linking to the proper view.

Sorting Levels - Consecutive Weekends - Fixed issue where employees were incorrectly marked as eligible when Weekend Definition was set to Any Day, despite exceeding the consecutive weekends threshold; eligibility is now correctly determined based on validated previous and future weekends according to the selected Weekend Definition, excluding the current weekend.

General Spacing Improvement - Adjustment to page layout to better align the page title and back button with the main content area, and to add clearer spacing between the dropdown arrow and employee names for improved readability.

Automated Call Outs - Adding Shifts - Fixed issue where newly created shifts were saved on the wrong date. Shifts are now created on the selected date with correct details, support dispatching, and allow saving multiple shifts across multiple days.

Time Card - Audit - Corrected issue where Stat Worked hours were missing from employee Timecards due to untracked manual adjustments. Timecards now retain all Stat Worked hours, and all changes are fully logged in the Audit trail with user, date/time, and adjustment type.

Reports - Audit Report - Adjustment - Fixed issue preventing audit tracking of System Rules - Day Code Rules - Premium Groups. Changes are now reliably captured with user, date/time, and details, including historical and future edits, and report output is exportable.

Time Bank - Deferred Debit Process - Correction to issue where the deferred process was incorrectly adding time to Earned instead of updating Taken and reducing Balance. It now correctly increments Taken, decreases Balance, and leaves Earned unchanged unless affected by accrual rules.

Automated Call Outs - Schedule Rule Validation - Correction to 2nd validation not enforcing max shifts per day in Broadcast and Pool, ensuring employees cannot be assigned multiple shifts in a day and violations are logged with clear error messages.

Block Booking Sorting Level Issue - Fixed issue where Block Booking Max Hours in Timeframe rule wrongly disqualified employees and showed incorrect errors; it now correctly validates eligibility.

Employee Panel - Daily Schedule & Wizard - Employee Phone Numbers Missing - Corrected issue where employee phone numbers were missing from the Daily Schedule and Wizard Call-In List panels, now displaying correctly when enabled in visibility settings.

Automated Call Outs - Employee Detail - Adjustment to issue where employees who complete the first two steps of the SMS opt-in process but do not update SSC Personnel notifications appear with blank name, date, and time in Automated Call Out, and the system does not provide a clear error message.

Configuration - Ministry Staffing Saved Record - Correction to issue where saving changes in the Ministry Staffing menu caused records to move to the bottom of the list. Records now retain their order after saving and details refresh correctly when switching between records.

Reports - NS Ministry Staffing - Corrected an issue causing internal exceptions in reports by updating the configuration validation to prevent saving incomplete setups and ensuring successful report generation.

Reports - NS Ministry Staffing - Adjustment to add the Attendance Code length warning to all applicable General Staffing fields, preventing save when triggered without clearing user selections.

Reports -Time Export to Excel - Correction to prevent long employee names from causing Time Export to Excel rows to wrap into multiple lines, which creates extra or broken time record entries.

Reports - Schedule Reports - Weekly Complement Report - Correction to resolve an issue where running the report by class only always returns a single record.

SSC Mobile - Manager - Security Restriction Validation - Correction to ensure push notifications respect user security restrictions for Shift Exchange and all other request types.

Schedules - Mass Messaging - Night Shift Data - Correction to ensure Mass Messaging consistently uses the majority-of-hours scheduled date for night shifts, preventing conflicting dates between dispatch and acceptance messages.

Company Profile - Schedules - ACO Notification Settings - Correction to restore functionality of Shift Starting Soon Reminder checkboxes after Deleted Shifts reminder options were removed.

Schedules - Block Booking - Employee Filter - Block Booking filters were not updating the Employee Panel, causing all employees to display regardless of selected filters.

Reports - Schedule Reports - Mass Messaging - Output - Adjustment to allow the Mass Messaging Report to generate in CSV format without triggering an Internal Exception error.

Reports - Schedule Reports - Department Schedule Report Output - Correction to fix the Department Schedule Report failing with an error when filtered by Facility Description.

SSC Mobile - Requests - Time Off Request Hours Field - Fixed Issue where a partial day time off request lost focus when the hours were entered causing the keyboard to open and close, preventing users from entering or modifying hours.

General Loading Speed - Fixed issue for one client with extremely slow screen navigation and loading, including day changes in Daily view and Active Schedule loading, which caused long delays and server errors despite acceptable internet performance.

Personnel - Time Bank - Correction to issue where the Time Bank Details tab no longer displays the Description when the VAC+ bank is used after Earning Accrual Rules are updated.

Automated Call Outs - DND Period - Fixed an issue where employee reply windows were incorrectly shortened after dispatch resumed from a do not disturb period. All employees paused by DND now receive the same, correctly calculated reply deadline.

Task Scheduler Time Bank Rollover Events - Fixed an issue where scheduled processes could run using an incorrect internal date, causing rollovers to fail. Scheduled executions now consistently use the configured run date, ensuring reliable processing and accurate reporting.

Mass Messaging - Mobile App Dispatch - Fixed an issue in Mass Messaging dispatch where call-outs and feedback continued after a shift was accepted. The system now immediately stops all remaining call-outs and disables feedback for other employees to prevent confusion and inaccurate processing indicators.

Payroll - Seniority Calculation - Fixed regression where the Seniority Calculation would display an "Internal Exception. Try Again" error when attempting to Preview or Process.

General On-Line Help Manual - Fixed issue where the Help Manual link was directing all user types to the ESS Help Manual regardless of their role.

Schedules - Mass Messaging Lite - Remedy to the Dispatch so that clicking Apply no longer triggers a server error, ensuring dispatches are sent out successfully.

General Automated Call Outs / Mass Messaging Notifications - Improvement to MM/ACO Dispatch Push Notifications so that employees now correctly receive notifications when a new shift becomes available for booking, consistent with all other push notification types.

Requests - Time Off Request - OESA Time Banks - Fixed Employee OESA Vacation Bank incorrectly validating week-block Time Off Requests against days instead of weeks, triggering a false insufficient balance error on submission.

General - Two Factor Authentication - Resolved Two-Factor Authentication email delivery method sending blank emails with no authentication code, preventing users from completing login verification.

Known Issue Summary

Push notifications for Shift Exchange Requests (and potentially TOR and Avail) are not respecting Security Restrictions / Reporting Hierarchy. Current behavior results in users receiving notifications from staff outside of their supervisory scope.

Deployment Login Error where users may encounter a DoLogin error when logging in following the latest deployment of the develop-clean and release branches while the root cause is under investigation.

SSC Payroll PE Clients - Custom GL Report Generator may fail when converting Pay Excel files, throwing an unhandled exception when data is unrecognized or unmapped while a fix is under investigation.
